I have known and done business with Mr Lim Fang Wei since 2007 when my company Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd (HPL) supplied oil and petrochemical products to BP where he had then worked.
Over the past 13 years interacting with him professionally, I have grown to admire his business acumen, innovativeness and integrity in the industry covering all aspects of trading, risk management, operations and finance. In September 2019, HPL’s wholly-owned subsidiary HPL Global Pte Ltd (HPLG) retained Gravitas Energy Resources (GER) as their consultant. Mr Lim is GER’s founder and was appointed as the Strategic Advisor to HPLG. GER’s scope of work included guiding HPLG’s Board and I, as its Principal Executive, in all aspects of our business strategy, and built up a competent trading organization, implemented a robust risk management system and expanded the commercial footprint of our organization on a global basis.
Since our engagement with him, we have been more than impressed with Gravitas’ delivered results. Mr Lim has recruited the right talents for our trading, risk management, operations and finance teams. Besides helping me formulate and execute transformative business growth and defensive strategies, he also helped curate innovative approaches for various stakeholders from suppliers, customers, bankers and regulators.
